Attending: Jean Long, President; Diane Welch, Vice President; Pauly Heller, Secretary; Stu Smith, Treasurer; Steve deBorgheyi, Member-at-large; Randy Vinson, Asst. Treasurer; Randy Pence, Architectural Committee Co-chairman; Joy Donnelly, Kathleen Ice, Karen Kukey, Tamarac residents.

Call to Order: Jean Long called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m.

Minutes: Stu moved to accept minutes of the September Board Meeting. Diane seconded. Minutes accepted.

Old Business:

  1. Overgrown Tree at 602 W. Marconi: Joy Donnelly spoke for Mike Sieckmeyer. They will share cost of periodic trimming of Arizona ash tree. Stu delineated considerations: (1) need to trim around streetlight; (2) need to balance branches so tree doesn’t fall over; (3) tree may die. Broken Limb will give estimate for trimming or cutting down and replacing. Will inform Mike and Joy before acting.
  2. Painting: (1) New paint schedule reflects 10% rise in costs. (2) Stu and Bill Goshert have all stucco and trim paint colors on file. To help homeowners purchase Tamarac’s unique Sherwin Williams colors for small projects, they will distribute cards with correct information for each homeowner and for the Board to keep on file.
  3. Resident Directory and cover letter are ready for distribution. Mary Bartlett’s privacy questions have been addressed with no legal opinion sought.
  4. Landscaping and Trees: (a) Jane Scoville will talk with Drew about replacing tree, possibly in nearby location; (b) Lot 65: old ficus needs to be removed; (c) scalping and winter rye planting started; (d) Lot 94: HOA will have landscaper remove pesky volunteer tree by faucet. Homeowner may remove two bushes and replace with tree at own expense.
  5. Other Landscaping Issues: (a) Landscapers should pay to replace sprinkler heads they damage. (b) Need to discuss who pays charges for adjusting timers when it is part of scheduled winter lawn changeover. (c) Jean scheduled Nov. 14 volunteer community park cleanup.
  6. Parking on Marconi: We manage property, not people. Neighbors should address parking issues with neighbors.
  7. MV garage sale and neighborhood news: Jean will send out email blast. Pauly will compile information into a graphic form for bulletin boards.
  8. Century Link update: Diane started email chat about replacing unsightly boxes. Above all, we don’t want them to tear up our streets.
  9. Block Watch update: New leaders for 4th Drive will start in January.
  10. Posting Minutes: Stu moved that most recent minutes may be approved by email and posted on bulletin boards and website after approval, Steve seconded. Motion passed.

New Business:

  1. Karen Kukey’s lot at 6th Avenue and Tierra has stepping stones up a slope to front entrance that pose a potential risk of falls. She wants to replace with 3-foot-wide brick walkway and a wrought-iron railing. The Architectural Committee will assess on October 16 at 8 a.m.
  2. Financial Report (Randy V): Proposed no monthly rate increase for 2021.
  3. Initial discussion of 2021 budget

Adjourn:  Pauly moved, Stu seconded. Meeting adjourned at 9:18 p.m.

Next Meeting:  November 11, 2020

Respectfully submitted by: Pauly Heller, Secretary
