August 8, 2018 Meeting

Minutes 

Attending:  Mary Bartlett, President; Natalie Carlson, Vice President and Treasurer; Jean Long, Secretary; Bill Gossert, Board Member. Stu Smith, Board member and Randy Vinson, Asst. Treasurer, were absent. 

Call to Order:  Mary Bartlett called the meeting to order at 7 pm. 

Minutes:  Jean Long read the minutes from the July Board Meeting.  Bill moved to accept the minutes with changes. Jean seconded.  Minutes approved.

Old Business:

Sprinklers:  in June we spent $1800 on sprinkler repair.  In July we spent $1200 on sprinkler repair.  The sprinkler system is costing a large amount of money and we may have to visit other ways to pay these expenses.  It could cause us to increase our monthly HOA fees next year.

New Business: 

  1. Tree removal on Marconi – Broken Limb (tree care) recommended the tree be removed because of potential damage it could cause if it fell. Mary moved that it be removed.  Natalie seconded and the Board approved.  Mary will inform the homeowners on both sides of the tree.
  2. Granite replacement on 6thDrive – Because the area is covered in just dirt, it was recommended by Bill that gravel be placed in that area.  Natalie seconded and the motion passed.
  3. Parking Report – No major problems this month. People are calling Bill when they plan to have a car parked on the street.  This lets Bill know why cars are on the street.  He appreciates receiving the information.
  4. Water near mailbox – On Marconi between 5th Drive and 6 Avenue, water is seeping out from the backyard and causing a wet, slimy patch of concrete by the mailboxes. Jean talked to one of the residents of the home where the water is leaking and he said he would talk to their landscapers.  Mary mentioned that the same thing happens on Marconi between 6 Avenue and 6 Drive.  We will keep an eye out for these issues.
  5. Status of Randy’s health – Randy Vinson, our Assistant Treasurer and friend, suffered a stroke recently. He is in a rehab center right now and we are wishing a speedy recovery.
  6. Finances – Thanks to Randy’s family the finances are still being taken care of. The bills are being paid and the checks are being deposited. Mary is in contact with Randy and his family and we see no need to change our financial system.
