Attending: Jean Long, President; Diane Welch, Vice President; Pauly Heller, Secretary; Stu Smith, Treasurer; Randy Vinson, Asst. Treasurer; Randy Pence, Architectural Committee Co-chairman; DavidGood, resident.
Call to Order: Jean Long opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m.
Minutes: Stu moved to approve minutes of the December Board Meeting as distributed to the Board by email. Diane seconded. Minutes approved.
Old Business:
1. Architectural Guidelines:
a. Pavers on front sidewalks: Pauly moved “that the Board will allow homeowners at their own expense to demolish existing paved walkways from sidewalk to front door and replace them with pavers matching the color of roof tiles or existing brick trim on house, upon approval by the
Tamarac Architectural Committee. Steve seconded. Motion passed.
b. Retaining wall in front landscape: Stu moved “that the Board will allow homeowners at their own expense to install a decorative retaining wall no higher than sixteen (16) inches including the cap, with stucco matching the style and paint color of the house. The brick cap must match existing brick trim on house. Approval of homeowner’s plans by the Tamarac Architectural Committee must be secured in advance. Wall is to be maintained according to community standards by the homeowner.
Pauly seconded. Motion passed.
c. Jean will create an addendum to Architectural Guidelines to reflect these changes.
2. Landscape:
a. Board approved addition of Drew’s recommended trees and shrubs to our approved plants list:
Blue Bells (Eremophila hygrophana), Valentine (Eremophila maculate), “Whirling Butterflies” (Gaura lindheimeri, “Firesticks” (Euphorbia tirucalli), and “Firecrackers” (Ruselia equisetiformis).
b. Board approved $623.50 for replanting pool park with above-named varieties as soon as possible
c. Board will compare Drew’s bid for 7th Avenue redesign to other bids. Funds are in Capital Reserve Fund.
d. David Good has volunteered to join the Tamarac Architectural Committee
3. Slippery sidewalks: Jean will check on power washing and grading surfaces.
4. Jean has “No parking” ready to install.
5. Jean will remind homeowners to follow roof rat guidelines.
6. Painted block fence at Lot 31: Danny Hodges will repaint; homeowners will cover cost.
7. TAC approved David Good’s (Lot 87) plans for front yard landscape.
8. Food truck Tuesday, February 16: Diane will help distribute flyers.
9. Annual Meeting: a. Will be a Zoom call Saturday, April 3, 2010, at 10 a.m. Board is entertaining nominations for three board members—Stu, Pauly, and Diane are up for re-election. Randy Pence is resigning from TAC. Diane will chair TAC.
New Business:
1. Fallen tree at 5th Ave. and Marconi cost $1,200 to remove. Thanks to volunteers who helped.
2. Financial Report: Need to adjust water usage in green areas. New gravel will help.
