Tamarac HOA Board Meeting
March 13, 2024
MINUTES
Attending: Jean Long, Stu Smith, Mary Bartlett, Judy Gardner, Jody
Rhodes(representing the TAC), Randy Vinson. Kathy Strasser was absent.
The meeting was called to order at 8:04 p.m. Jody/Stu moved and 2 nd to approve
February minutes; accepted.
Old Business
- Parking/Safety Committee Meeting: Mary will apprise homeowners of the
upcoming safety meeting on April 18 th at 4:00 p.m. at the pool park. We will ask that
attendees bring chairs. Those appearing will be: Rachel Milne – Director of Office of
Homeless Solutions; Tim Tewers – Community Resource Officer and Andrea Correlas,
from the Mayor’s office. - Painting Houses: Four houses have been painted and the others on the list for this
year are scheduled or being worked on. Mary suggested that we get competing bids
for next year. She suggested we get a bid from Valley Painting Company. - Planting on 7 th Avenue :Jean reported that we have 10 drip lines available to use
to install 10 more plants to add some color to 7 th Avenue. She will also replace the
plant that was removed from under the Tamarac sign. She recommended Heavenly
Cloud Sage and Honeysuckle. Mary moved to approve the purchase and installation
of 11 plants; Stu 2 nd . Motion passed. - Landscaping: Jean will remind landscapers that, according to Tamarac
Architectural rules, plants/bushes must be trimmed to under 5 ft. Yellow Bells and
Texas Sage will be allowed to grow naturally. - Approved Plant List: Jody said the TAC is reviewing the approved
tree/shrub/plant list and will provide any updates. - U-Turn Sign on Kathleen: Mary provided information on an 18X24 sign that will
be placed at 7 th Street Entrance saying “Not a Thru Street /U Turns not Allowed”.
The cost is $61.30 and has bright yellow reflective paint. Mary motioned we
approve this purchase/Jean 2 nd . Motion approved. - Student Issues: Some young people threw worms at a house;students are
congregating at the pool park after school and there have been rocks thrown in the
pool. We will monitor the situation for now and will research putting cameras by
the pool park. - Update on Street Signs: Stu said street signs are coming in soon. We have some
volunteers to help paint sign poles; Jean will ask for others if needed.
New Business - Working from Home: The Board will revisit the CCR’s rules on running a business
from a home in the community. Further discussion will be held at next board
meeting. - Financial Report – Randy provided updated financials for February. Everything is
in budget and there are no issues.
The next board meeting will be held on April 10, 2024 at Mary’s house. Meeting adjourned
at 8:15 p.m.
