Old business:
- Board Officers: Bill moved that the officers on the Board remain in the same positions as in 2017. Stu seconded and it was approved.
- Sprinkler System: Sprinkler system is having many breaks and the repairs are taking longer causing areas of the grass to look bad. Joe, Mary and Stu will meet with the landscapers to discuss these issues. Joe is also getting bids for the cost of a new sprinkler system.
- Community Yard Sale Banner: The Board approved the purchase of a sign for our fall garage sale. The sign will be placed at the entrance on 7th The cost was $60.
- Landscaping Concerns: We are still working with the landscapers to improve the landscaping. There were a number of compliments about the landscaping from homeowners who were at the Spring Picnic, May 5.
- Sidewalk update: Stu reviewed that there at about 23 slabs that need to be replaced in the community. He has gotten a bid but the company will not be able to get to the job until the fall. Since they did a good job with the slab work before we decided to wait until fall to have these done.
- Trees: Stu reported that Broken Limb would be coming out in the next few weeks to trim 30 trees in the community. The cost is $1900.
- Parking update: We are still experiencing cars speeding through the community and cars parked improperly around the neighborhood. The Board discussed many ideas of ways to get these situations under control. Most agreed to keep reporting these vehicles and informing the homeowners of the rules they are not following. Legal advice will be considered.
- Review Annual Meeting – plans for 2019 meeting: Many homeowners were at the annual meeting. The atmosphere was positive and the community expressed how they support the Board. Next year we will look into having the meeting indoors due the heat even in April. Coffee and donuts may be served at the meeting.
- Review Picnic: There was a good turn out for the Spring Picnic on May 5. We all enjoyed eating hot dogs and many dishes brought by our neighbors. Even the heat did not keep us away.]
- Financial Report: Randy discussed the budget for our community. We are in good shape financially and have added $1600 to the budget because of 4 homes have sold.
New Business
Painting: Bill got a quote from our painter, Danny. Mary moved that we accept the bid of $2000 to scrape and repaint the fence along 7th Avenue and the planters at the entrance on Kathleen. Stu seconded and we approved the motion. The cost will be $2000.
Pool Cover: Bill of Get R Done has built a shade structure for the pool equipment that will keep it protected from the weather. Cost $300. Good job.
Pool: Teenagers have been caught in the pool late in the evening. They are climbing the fence to get in and have been asked to leave by Board members. It is requested that if there are people in the pool making noise and disturbing the community that residents call the police. Remember no one under 18 can be in the pool without a guardian.
Meeting was adjourned by a motion from Stu and seconded by Bill. Mary adjourned the meeting.
