Call to Order: Jean Long called the meeting to order at 7:03 pm
Minutes: A motion was made by Stu Smith to accept the Minutes of the April Board Meeting and seconded by Diane Welch. The Board approved.
Old Business:
- Update street repair: Pinnacle Paving repaired damage on 6th Drive and Marconi caused by sprinklers and Kathleen and 4th Avenue. Stu talked to City Councilwomen Deborah Stark about garbage truck damage to streets. Trucks never exceed 13 mph.
- Annual Meeting: Annual meeting is rescheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, June 6, 2020 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church. No potluck. Pauly will check about having coffee. Jean and Jeremy will be up for election at that time and Jean will send out an email to see if any other homeowners wish to run. Jean will make ballots. Randy will tabulate votes.
- Common area wall repair was competed quickly and with excellence by Mario Gonzalez. Diane will add him to the TaMV Resource List.
- Pool update: Community pool is ready for use. Has been inspected by Maricopa County.
- Update on closing cost charged by the HOA and the three houses involved (Lots 66,68, & 105):
The closing cost for these three homes have been adjusted to everyone’s satisfaction.
New Business:
- ADA and Parking regulations re two cars in garage: Randy has the form for residents to complete to allow for a household with a car displaying handicapped tags to park one vehicle on the outside.
- Delinquent accounts: We have two homes that are significantly in arrears with their association fees. At this point the Board will request that they bring their accounts up to date or we will have to take further actions.
- Signs regarding park parking: Tamarac resident Barb Dickerson requested more “No Parking” signs be placed along Tierra Buena. She is willing to put a double-sided sign on a pole in her front side yard. Stu moved to secure more signage similar to the sign at 6th Dr. and Tierra Buena to post at regular intervals along sidewalk on the park side of the street. Pauly seconded. Motion passed. Jean will talk to Bill Goshert and Bill Durham about installation.
- No trespassing item from Bill Goshert: Jean will meet with Bill to get a further understanding of this program being done by the Phoenix Police. Diane and Jean will meet with the police and ask for a police officer to come to our Annual Meeting to explain this to our community.
- Light at entrance to community—Is it brighter: Jeremy is working on this.
- Opening the pool: Jean will have signs made according to wording suggested by Mulcahy Law Firm. The Board decided to leave lounge chairs stored at this time. Signs will be posted on both gates, on pool bulletin board, on restroom doors, and on tables in pool area. Once this is done we will be opening the pool. The main point is pool users are aware of the risk of COVID-19, and they are responsible for their own safety.
- Replacing umbrellas for the pool: Mary Bartlett and Bill Goshert replaced umbrellas for the pool.
- It was approved to have Arroyo Verde begin replenishing granite in the neighborhood under Mary’s supervision. $5,500 has been set aside for this expense.
- Diane needs contact information for insurance: Up to date but needs sign company name.
- Diane requests information about NextDoor: Bill Goshert has named Diane as a lead administrator for NextDoor. Diane will add a notice to NextDoor about no parking along south side of Tierra Buena.
- Capital fund update (Stu): Nothing new to report
- Financial Report: Randy went over the most recent financial records and we are working within our budget in most areas.
Adjourn: Pauly moved to adjourn. Diane seconded.Meeting adjourned at 8:30 pm.
Next meeting: Annual Meeting, 10:00 am, Saturday, June 6, 2020 (if St. Paul’s is available).
Respectfully submitted by: Pauly Heller, Secretary
