Treasurer; Jean Long,\nSecretary; Diane Welch, Block Watch<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Call\nto Order<\/strong>:&nbsp; Mary\nBartlett called the meeting to order at 6:56 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Minutes:&nbsp; <\/strong>The minutes from the October 2019, Board\nmeeting were read and Stu motioned to accept the minutes with corrections and\nMary seconded.&nbsp; Changes included the\nnumber of ballots regarding rentals received thus far is 51 and only 70 hot\ndogs were needed for the community picnic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Old Business: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Block Watch update <\/strong>\u2013 Diane reported that a small group of people\nattended the meeting.&nbsp; The Block Watch\nrepresentative discussed blight, theft, and trespassing in the surrounding\narea.&nbsp; Also discussed was how to proceed\nwith forming a Block Watch group in our neighborhood.&nbsp; Suggested that Block Watch leaders for each\nblock or area of the community be the next step.&nbsp; Suggested to add this issue to Annual\nMeeting.<\/li><li><strong>Landscaping issues<\/strong> \u2013 Landscaping was discussed in depth.&nbsp; The fact we have previously solicited lawn\nmaintenance crews and have discovered we are too small for the large companies\nand too large for the small operators.&nbsp;\nThe cost of landscaping will increase next year.&nbsp; The cost increase is necessary because our\ncommunity is not made up of look alike yards so the landscapers have to take\nmore time to meet the needs of each unit.<\/li><li><strong>Tree trimming and removal<\/strong> \u2013 The cost of trimming the 32 trees that need\nto be trimmed is $2750 and will take several days to do.&nbsp; The trees are trimmed so they do not hit the\nroofs of the houses or damage any property.&nbsp;\nThe Cypress trees on 7<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue are looking distressed and\nwill be removed.<\/li><li><strong>Sprinkler Expense update<\/strong> \u2013 The sprinkler system repairs so far this year\nhas cost an average of $88.50 per home.&nbsp;\nBill Durham, who fixes the sprinklers, reports most of the problems are\nin the drip lines.&nbsp; <\/li><li><strong>Lawn update<\/strong> \u2013 This committee consists of Randy Pence, Diane Palmer, Lauri\nDemetres, Barb Dickerson, Jayne Kerr and Jean Long.&nbsp; The committee is in the process of getting\nbids to find out the cost of replacing the grass areas in front of homes with\ngravel, artificial turf or leave them as is.&nbsp;\nSo far two companies have met with Jean concerning putting in artificial\nturf and they are to report back to her soon.&nbsp;\nThere are several gravel landscapers that have been asked to bid but we\nhave not heard back from them. The committee\u2019s plan is to have a complete\nreport ready for the Annual Meeting in April<\/li><li><strong>Voting on rental issue update<\/strong> \u2013 As of this meeting, there have been 78\nballots collected concerning this issue.&nbsp;\nAll ballots are due by December 1, 2019.&nbsp;\nThe results will be reported as soon as possible.<\/li><li><strong>Community picnic update<\/strong> \u2013 There was a small turn out at the\npicnic.&nbsp; About two dozen people showed up\nbut they seemed to enjoy themselves.&nbsp; The\nBoard needs to better inform the community about this event.<\/li><li><strong>Community yard sale update<\/strong> \u2013 There were a few people who participated in\nthe yard sale.&nbsp; Stu and Joe put the sign\nout Friday before the sale.&nbsp; Recommended to\nput the sign closer to Moon Valley Park and have it up for 5 or 6 days before\nthe event.&nbsp; Again we need to communicate\nevents better.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>New Business:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>\u00a0<strong>Newsletter<\/strong> \u2013 Mary will be writing a newsletter in early December.\u00a0 It will include the announcement of the Christmas Party, December 7, the results of the voting for rental restrictions, and Block Watch information.<\/li><li><strong>Christmas Party &#8212; <\/strong>December 7 from 4-7 pm<ol><li>Door Prizes\u00a0 &#8212; Mary moved that we spend $100 on door prizes, Jean seconded.\u00a0 It passed.\u00a0 <\/li><\/ol><ol><li>Toys for children in the hospital \u2013 People are asked to bring a new unwrapped toy to give to Banner Thunderbird &amp; Hope Community Services.<\/li><\/ol><ol><li>Discussed a possible Ugly Sweater Contest for the party.<\/li><\/ol><ol><li>Bring to party:\u00a0 Mary lights, tables and chairs and check on electricity, Jean, hot cider, Stu get tent and heater, everyone potluck dish.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><li>\u00a0<strong>2020 Budget Finalization<\/strong> \u2013 At this point the budget is increasing by approximately $17,300.\u00a0 The new mandatory Arizona laws are costing approximately $143.00 per year for each home.\u00a0 At this point it will be necessary to raise the monthly fees by $10.\u00a0 The Board discussed this increase and agreed it had to be done.\u00a0 Mary will get the necessary paperwork together and it will be sent out prior to December 1, 2019.\u00a0 The budget with changes was voted on and approved for 2020.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Adjourn:<\/strong>&nbsp; Meeting was adjourned at\n8:24 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Next Meeting:<\/strong>&nbsp; January 8, 2020<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Minutes of November 13, 2019, Board Meeting Attending: &nbsp;&nbsp;Mary Bartlett, President; Pauly Heller, Vice President; Stu Smith, Treasurer; Randy Vinson, Asst.
