March\n11, 2020 Meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attending:\n<\/strong>Mary Bartlett, President; Pauly Heller,\nVice President; Stu Smith, Treasurer; Randy Vinson, Asst.Treasurer; Jean Long,\nSecretary;  Diane Welch, Block Watch<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Call\nto Order:<\/strong>  Mary called the meeting to order at 7 pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minutes:  <\/strong>The minutes from the February 12, 2020, were read by Jean.  Mary motioned that the minutes be accepted as\nread. Diane seconded the motion.  The\nmotion passed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Old Business: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Block Watch update:<\/strong>  Diane reported that the BW committee will\nmeet next Thursday, March 19 at 7:00 at Diane\u2019s house.  The purpose of the meeting is to update all\nof the leaders and to plan our next step. \nDiane mentioned that we are short three BW leaders.  Stu and Pauly will check with people on their\nstreets to see if a leader can be established for those two areas.  Diane will report on BW at the Annual Meeting\nand has asked the BW leaders to be present so they can be introduced.<\/li>
  2. Open positions for Board:<\/strong> \nThere are two Board memberships that are up for election this year.  Mary Bartlett has chosen not to run for the\nBoard again.  We will miss her expertise\nas she leaves the Board.  Jean Long will\nbe up for re-election and Jeremy McLaughlin has stated that he is interested in\nrunning for the Board.  <\/li>
  3. Ballots:<\/strong>  Jean will construct the ballot\nfor the election the last week of March and send it to Randy so he can make\ncopies. Jean will request Barb Dickerson to help sign in homeowners, hand out\nballots, and count ballots.  Randy will\nalso help.<\/li>
  4. Annual Meeting and Pot Luck\nPicnic<\/strong>   Finalize\nAgenda:  <\/strong>Include \u2013 introduction of\ncandidates, election of Board members, financial reports, update on lawn\nreport, president\u2019s remarks, upkeep of the community, activities, homes sold,\nhome painting, etc.  Picnic Plans\/Needs<\/strong> \u2013 The potluck will take place after the\nmeeting.  Homeowners are asked to bring\ndishes to share.  Kathy Clark and Nancy\nSmith will be in charge of the potluck. \nJean will supply paper plates and napkins.  Stu will bring bottled water and eating\nutensils.<\/li>
  5. Streets update:<\/em><\/strong>  Everything is in order for the\nstreet sealing on March 23, 25, and 31st<\/sup>.  Mary will send out emails a day or so before\nthe paving to remind the community of the sealing.  Stu and Jean will walk the areas being paved\nat 6:45 am to make sure that all of the cars are off the street.<\/li>
  6. Lawn Bids:<\/strong>  At\nthe annual meeting, Jean will report on the cost for landscaping and sprinklers\nfor 2019.  She will also report on the\nthree bids that the Lawn Committee received to replace the grass areas with\ngravel or artificial grass.  This purpose\nof this report is to inform the community of the expense involved in the lawns\nand some possible changes to these expenses. \nBoth the Lawn Committee and Board\u2019s opinion at this time is to continue\nwith the landscaping as is. Granite will be refreshed in some area. <\/li>
  7. Pool resurfacing:<\/strong>  The pool resurfacing by CDC Pools is\ncomplete.  The company did an excellent\njob doing the resurfacing and keeping the area of the pool and park clean and\ncomfortable.  The pool still needs to be\ninspected by the county but it is ready for use now.  <\/li>
  8. Quorum:<\/strong> \nLegal recommendation, \u201cUnless otherwise stated in the CC&Rs, the\npresence in person, by absentee ballot, or any other method permitted to\napplicable law of twenty-five percent (25%) of the Members shall constitute a\nquorum at all meetings of the Members.\u201d \nJean motioned that we accept this legal recommendation.  Diane seconded and the motion passed. Revised\nBy-Laws will immediately be updated on Tamarac\u2019s website.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    New Business:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. 15846 N 6th<\/sup>\nDrive \u2013<\/strong>\nConcerns that this house appears to be vacant.  Mary has sent email to the homeowners.<\/li>
    2. Update on all new sales:  <\/strong>Three homes sold in the last month.  Lot 105 does not have any legal papers done\non it yet.  Randy will check in to this.<\/li>
    3. Plant Approval \u2013 <\/strong>Sego palm is a tree that is\nnot on our approved plant list.<\/li>
    4. Install better lighting at\nthe entrance to the property:  <\/strong>Light at entrance is not\ngiving off enough light.  Mary will have\nJeremy, our electrician, check in to this and present a recommendation.<\/li>
    5. Hiring a band for the\nAnnual Holiday Party:  <\/strong>Jean will check with the\nactivity committee to see of a band can be hired.<\/li>
    6. Financial Report:  <\/strong>Randy went over the financial report and it appears that the\nbudget is meeting our needs right now.<\/li>
    7. Architectural\nCommittee:  <\/strong>Mary graciously volunteered\nto head this group after she leaves the board. \nJean moved that we accept her generous offer, and Pauly seconded.  The Board unanimously accepted her offer.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Adjourn:  <\/strong>Mary adjourned the meeting at 8:37.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
