May 2026 Board Minutes

Tamarac HOA Board Meeting

May 13, 2026

MINUTES

Attendees:  Ursula Strephans, President; Jean Long, Vice President; Sue Rounds, Treasurer; Judith Gardner, Secretary: Mary Bartlett, Stu Smith, Kathy Strasser, Randy Vinson, Administrator.

April Minutes were approved.  Jean Introduced our guest, Cody Reinke, President of Rain Tree, LLC, our landscaping company.  His company has been providing landscaping services to Tamarac for the past 5 years.

Old Business

Our discussion focused on a few areas of concern that have been brought up by homeowners.

 (1) the red dots on the driveways and the red ribbons on bushes mean that the homeowner does not want the landscaping company to trim their plants/bushes.  This is not always adhered to.  After some discussion it was decided to provide homeowners with larger red vinyl ribbons they can use on bushes/plants so they will be more noticeable.  Also, Cody will communicate to his foreman that this issue needs to be addressed with his crew..

 (2) landscapers breaking off sprinkler heads around ground plants;  Cody said this is bound to happen from time to time and he is more than willing to replace them.  Stu said that it isn’t usually noticeable right away and Jeremy can easily replace them as well.

 (3) Replacing front yard granite/gravel where needed.  The Architectural Committee has identified around 70 homes where granite needs to be added to cover bare spots; Mary moved/Jean seconded – all approved to go ahead with Rain Tree’s bid to replace gravel at designated homes.  Kathy will notify the homeowners affected in advance.  Granite will be ¾” Madison Gold as required in our guidelines.

 (4) We also discussed replacement of borders between real grass and gravel in yards.  Some yards have metal dividers which are failing and present a safety hazard.  The TAC is working on identifying which homes need replacement.  Cody highly recommended using extruded concrete to use for dividers.   Stu will acquire bids for this work and further discussion will take place at the next board meeting.

  • The pool house and gate painting will take place the 3rd weekend in May.
  • Family Bar-b-q:  The board members feel the picnic was a success with about 45 attendees.  It was better attended and less costly than the holiday party, which it replaced.

New Business

Mary will be adding “dumpsters” and “storage pods” to our parking guidelines.

Sue reported that the noticeboard post on 4th Dr. needs painting.  Will address when weather is cooler.

Meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.     Submitted by:  Judy Gardner, Secretary
